Today’s post features the Northamptonshire wedding photography from the wedding of Mike and Claire in the beautiful village of Blakesley in Northamptonshire. It was an all village wedding with the Bride getting ready at her parents’ house, the groom meeting the guests in the village reading rooms, the service in the church followed by the reception in the village hall.
Mike & Claire had chosen not to get married in a plush hotel or country home, just a small Northamptonshire village and I loved the sense of community around it. The best part of this, and the bit Mike and Claire were very keen to be a central part of the day was the walk through the village to the church followed by the whole wedding party walking through the village centre to the hall.
Despite some pretty bad forecasts and a last minute whip round for umbrellas, the rain held off and the walk through the village was a success. It lead to some great pictures and great interaction with locals residents coming out of their houses to congratulate or throw confetti.
The reception was great fun and based around the idea of a Village barn dance with bunting and the same band that played at the bride’s fathers wedding, leading the dance in the evening. Bananas barn dance band really got everyone going and involved with a range of traditional line dances.
It really was a wedding I will remember for a long time and I thank Mike and Claire for involving me and wish them all the best for their future together.
As usual this wedding was shot using wither the Canon 5d or the 5dmk2 and either the 50mm of the 85mm prime lenses. I also used the Fuji XPro 1 and 35mm lens for a number of the images.
Thanks and I hope you enjoy the images
